Vintage Madame Alexander Alexander-kins Bridal Gown

Description

This dreamy little wedding gown was designed to coordinate with some of the bigger dolls of the time.  It is made of two layers of soft tulle with an attached organdy underskirt.  The bottom edge is embellished with three rows of signature MA ruffled delicate lace, as are the bodice, neckline, and sleeves.  The full circle skirt is attached at the waist with tiny pintucks, a mark of quality construction.  The waist is accented with a long, soft satin ribbon, cinched at center front to add design interest and tied in back with long tails.  The two square snaps are present and functional for fastening in back.  Although the Alexander-kins tag is missing, the gown is featured in Patricia Smith's book, The World of Alexander-kins, as shown in the photos.  There is no question about the authenticity of this beautiful gown, which is in excellent condition, showing only minor age-related discoloration evenly throughout.
