11 1/2" doll with wonderfully-detailed outfit based on its big screen counterpart
The costumes for 101 Dalmatians were designed by multi-Academy Award, BAFTA, and Tony Award winner Anthony Powell (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom / Last Crusade, Papillon, Death on the Nile, Tess, Frantic, Hook, The Avengers (1998), Sunset Boulevard (musical), Amadeus (original play), etc.)
Here's the best part about this doll, making this a wonderful piece of film (and Barbie) memorabilia... this doll was signed on the front window by Anthony Powell himself, at a Disney Store appearance in New York City on November 20th, 1996!  I personally witnessed Mr. Powell sign this doll and have owned it ever since.  An original flyer from the event accompanies the doll.  The last photo above shows a couple photos of Anthony signing the doll, as well as a pic of the actual costume Glenn Close wore in the film that was on display that day!
Anthony Powell is a very rare autograph to obtain as he has historically made very few public appearances.  He is now 85 years old and retired, residing in the U.K.
Brand new unopened condition - box is gorgeous overall and near mint - only some light scuffs / rubs where the flaps have rubbed against the inside's lower "pop-ups" and a small rub to the back of the box near the left edge (I tried to show everything in close-ups above)**

This Cruella De Vil was made by Mattel in 1996 and released in conjunction with the release of the first live action 101 Dalmations film to theaters.  It is still in beautiful condition today since it has been packed away since new.  There are light scuffs to the lower inside flaps where it rubbed against itself over time, plus a small rub to the back side's left edge.  This was signed in-person by [multiple] award winning costume designer Anthony Powell at a rare public appearance in NYC
.  He was only there for a couple hours way back on November 20, 1996, and I never heard of him doing an in-store signing before or since.  At the Disney Store autographing event, they had some original costumes that Glenn Close wore in the [then] new film, including the big screen counterpart this doll is based on.  I have included scans of photos that were taken that day, a couple of which show Anthony signing this doll.  The photos were taken with a 35mm camera and I have since lost the negatives.  However, I have scanned the original pics and if you want me to email the .jpgs to you after purchasing the doll, I will happily do so.  You can even have your own copies made at your local photo lab if so desired.  Autographed items from Mr. Powell are quite hard-to-find.  If you're a fan of his work or know someone who is, then this is the perfect item for you / them!  You will get the flyer shown in the pics above.  This is an original that I picked up at the store a couple days before the event 24 years ago.  Please check out all the pictures above to better appreciate this great doll.  I also have other pop culture items listed on eBay right now - including more Disney - if you want to check them out.
