Blue Ox Patriot Tow Car Brake Control Braking System BRK2012.
I bought this braking system for my tow car but have not been able to use it because the brake clamp does not fit over the brake pedal of my Saturn SL2. The unit powers on and goes through the setup process. Again, I’ve never been able to actually use it so I can’t speak to its performance. It comes with the remote for inside the motorhome but there is no break-away included (it can be purchased for about ). Also, the knob on the remote is missing and the “Gain” knob on the unit is loose. Functionality is not affected.

The Blue Ox Patriot Braking System is a vast improvement over "on/off" systems, which brake at a single pre-set level, the Patriot has a proportional design for equal braking. The actuator inside your towed vehicle applies the brakes with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV. If you slam on the RV's brakes in an emergency situation, the Patriot engages your towed vehicle's brakes with virtually the same intensity. If you press the RV's brakes just enough to slow a bit, your towed vehicle's brakes are depressed just enough to slow it down, as well.
